Design | Incorporating Color & Patterns Into Your Wedding Design

When deciding on your wedding design and aesthetic, it can be easy to get confused or caught up in wedding trends. While working with our couples, we advise them to look beyond a single component of their wedding day and think about the design as a whole. We recommend you consider adding layers, color, and texture to create timeless looks.
A Bright & Colorful Linen Two Ways
The inspiration for these wedding tablescapes was sparked by the beautiful Clifton Hall linen from La Tavola Linen. We wanted to create two wedding designs that showcased completely different looks while utilizing the same linen. In the first wedding tablescape, the Clifton Hall linen was set as the primary linen, while a red terracotta napkin was chosen to highlight the warm tones in the design. The pairing of the traditional paisley linen with a warm and rust-toned napkin adds a rustic charm to a classic design. In the second wedding tablescape, the patterned linen was used as a base layer for this design and was paired with an apple green runner, which highlighted the colors in the Clifton Hall pattern. We loved playing off the bright pattern of this linen to create two completely different wedding designs.
The Importance of China In Your Wedding Design
Selecting the best-suited china and charger plates for your tablescape can truly make or break your wedding design. In the wedding table settings below, we chose two different china sets to create four unique wedding tablescapes.
Below, the timeless Tuscan Stoneware China collection from Snyder Events is featured in two distinct event designs. The first wedding tablescape featured the elegant white china on top of a wood charger plate with pretty pink napkins. The bright pink napkins contrasted with the neutral pattern linen below and allowed the chinaware to be a focal point in the timeless wedding design. For the second wedding tablescape, the elegant china was set amongst layers of delicately folded napkins, scroll place cards, and fresh figs. The use of color and texture truly elevated both of these timeless wedding designs.

The elegant Floral Coupe collection from Snyder Events was used to bring two unique designs to life. In the first wedding design, warm tones of red and orange were used as the base of the tablescape. The red and orange floral embellishments in the china were highlighted with the selection of an orange-red paisley linen, while a bright and vibrant floral centerpiece complemented the table setting. This wedding design incorporated pops of powder blue into the tablescape with powder blue napkins and delicate blue florals. The alternate wedding design included an intricate paisley linen with blues, red and pink accents. This wedding tablescape featured burnt orange linen napkins, which highlight the warm-toned flowers in the china and paisley linen. The green foliage in the china design was emphasized with the addition of artichokes and green pillar candles set on the table.
Considering Candles In Your Wedding Design
We are huge lovers of using colored candles to change the overall feel of a wedding design. There is always a place for white candles at your wedding; however, the thought of adding color to your candles is often overlooked or not considered. Adding color to your table setting through colored candles is a great way to elevate your wedding tablescape while still maintaining a timeless look.
Below, colored candles were used in this wedding place settings to transform the look of each wedding design.
