Olivia and Micheal’s fall wedding in Savannah took place at the Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum. Their outdoor wedding ceremony was set up in the Scarborough Gardens facing the historic house from the 1800s and featured delicate and refined details that provided guests a welcome and relaxed atmosphere.
The Wedding Ceremony
For the wedding ceremony, guests were welcomed by live musicians before they took their seats in wood-slatted mahogany chairs. The wedding aisle was lined with lush florals and featured decorative floral arrangements. The statement piece of this outdoor wedding ceremony included a floral wedding ceremony arch placed in front of the Scarborough house steps. This wedding arch featured blush pink, peach, coral, and white blooms and was absolutely stunning!
This romantic color palette of soft pinks and peach tones with accents of blue and greens continued into the cocktail space and outdoor wedding reception. It was so fun working with a couple who loved to play with color, patterns, and layers!
An Outdoor Wedding Reception
In the North Garden of Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum, guests enjoyed a timeless southern cocktail hour. Our favorite design feature in this space was a refined and elegant escort card display. This piece featured acrylic boxes with hand lettering and timeless florals set on gold-framed shelves. In the gardens, we chose a combination of low-lying seated cocktail tables, highboy cocktail tables and worked the existing venue tables and chairs into the design. For these tables, we selected ivory-toned linens with the faintest pattern and completed the look with delicate white floral centerpieces and bentwood chairs.
Olivia and Micheal wanted their day to have a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Therefore, each design detail was hand-picked to bring this feeling to life. From the soft and timeless florals at the wedding ceremony to the textured linens and lounges at the reception. Each detail added a layer of warmth to the design.
Underneath the wedding reception space, wood accents were incorporated through different chairs and elegant washed wood chandeliers. Meanwhile, we used pops of color and texture to highlight the design at each table. We opted for neutral linens with a raised pattern and soft floral watercolor napkins. The blush and coral tones of the napkins were emulated by the floral centerpieces, which paired perfectly together. Tall pillar candles in moss and seaside green were added to each table to complete the tablescapes.
The reception bar was designed with a timeless garden in mind. It included a 16’ white wood bar and bar backs with boxwood and floral accents. This soft and timeless design was continued in the lounge tucked away for guests to relax and mingle.
A focal point of this outdoor wedding was the whimsical cake display. Surrounded by a garden of roses, ranunculus, and anemone flowers, the four-tiered buttercream cake was displayed. This elegant and refined floral display was by far a talking point of the night.
When our couples are open to a wedding design that plays with different colors, patterns, and layers, the results can be absolutely stunning! Olivia and Micheal’s garden-inspired, outdoor wedding design was just this!
