Real Event | A Bright & Bold Event Design Concept

In October our team was asked to provide event design services for the Wedding International Professional Association (WIPA) Coastal GA Educational Meet Up event. Coastal GA is a new chapter for WIPA and we had the pleasure to design the tables for speaker Julie Novack's presentation. We are excited to share with you below some details of this bold event design!

What was the event design inspiration behind this look?

We wanted to go for something bold but still sleek and modern. Lately, we have been pushing to design with any shade of yellow. The inspiration was to design with a color that most clients are afraid to use. The goal was to create something that would inspire clients to step outside the box and beyond their comfort zone.

How did the event design come together?

We started by knowing what color we wanted to feature as an accent color. From there the yellow played a key role in pushing the boundaries of this design. We worked with Gray Harper Florals to incorporate every shade of yellow possible through fresh florals, dried florals and even hand-painted florals. The florals were really the star of the show. Once we had some incredible floral designs pops of yellow were incorporated with napkins and ribbon accessories.

To keep the design feeling sleek and modern we chose to go with a black and white color palette for the base of the design. Black wood chairs paired perfectly with the bold statement linens from Stradley Davidson. Each place setting was complete with elegant white charger plates and white cutlery.

What was the hardest part of creating this design?

One of our biggest struggles with this design was finding the absolute PERFECT china that paired with the overall design. We wanted a set that was not considered basic and would not fight the beautiful pattern on the table linens. After trying a few different sets we settled on the

White magnolia collection from Event Works Rentals and were happy how the overall design turned out!

What is your favorite part of this event design?

Going into this design we knew that pairing a bold color with black and white would provide a modern feel. One thing that we were so in love with was how the yellow florals on the black and white patterned fabric popped! It was the perfect statement we were looking for without it being busy or overwhelming.

It was an absolute honor to work with WIPA and Party Slate for this event. We are so thankful for the incredible vendor team who helped pull this event design together. Be sure to check out the vendor team below!
