Real Wedding | A Destination Wedding in Savannah’s Historic District

On the week of Meghan and Paul’s first anniversary, we wanted to share with you some highlights from their beautiful destination wedding in Savannah. Coming from Florida, the couple knew they wanted a destination wedding in the South as they loved the classic southern and intimate feeling. So, we found them the perfect Savannah wedding venues in the Savannah Historic District.
About Their Wedding Design
Their design was inspired by a classic southern garden with touches of green and soft blues throughout. Meghan and Paul really trusted the Design Studio South and Gray Harper Florals team to play with the designs throughout the planning process. It was awesome to have clients who trusted our creative process and gave us creative freedom. This allowed maximum design potential from our team and resulted in a breathtaking design!
Gray Harper Florals made the most beautiful asymmetrical floral wedding ceremony arch for their wedding ceremony at Harper Fowlkes House. This arch included lush greenery, white blooms, and honey-colored roses. We paired their ceremony arch with warm tan-toned candles.
We transformed their reception space at Soho South Cafe into a magical indoor garden. Complete with light green tones, wood accents, and billowing blooms. As part of the design, we incorporated subtle blue accents at the guest’s tables with blue water goblets and blue pillar candles. In the center of the room, an intimate lounge was set up as a focal point. This lounge provided guests with a place to rest after dancing the night away.
A Glimpse inside a Destination Wedding in Savannah
For a wedding designer, one of the most rewarding feelings is when you do a room reveal of the reception space with the couple, and we get to see their response. Meghan and Paul’s reaction to seeing the reception space was absolutely priceless! They were overwhelmed with emotions and gratitude as the design turned out beautifully!
As the night went on, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner by Soho South Cafe and a custom cigar station. As the end of the evening approached, it was time to do the sparkler exit with the newlyweds. Originally the couple wanted to sneak away to do a small intimate exit with just their wedding party. However, Meghan and Paul were having so much fun on the dance floor that they didn’t want to leave. So, we adjusted their original grand exit plan and opted for a “mock exit” with the sparklers where all of their guests ended up coming out to enjoy the fun!
We loved working with Meghan and Paul and are so appreciative of their trust in us with their destination wedding in Savannah! We had a blast working on their design and are thankful for the creative freedom. If you are planning a destination wedding in Savannah or elsewhere, we’d love to work with you!
