Real Wedding | Modern Pink Destination Wedding in Savannah

This past October, we had the joy of working with Sarah & Dan to plan their destination wedding in Savannah at the historic Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. The couple had an intimate wedding in 2020 and chose to postpone their larger festivities due to the pandemic. By postponing their larger celebration with family and friends, the couple could relax and enjoy the day to the fullest.

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum Wedding Venue

One of the most popular wedding venues for a destination wedding in Savannah is the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. Located in the heart of the Savannah historic district, the museum grounds are home to stunning gardens and the William Scarbrough House. Built in the 1800s and refurbished in the 1970s, this property offers all of the modern amenities you would expect for a Savannah wedding venue. This little slice of elegant history is the perfect location for couples coming to Savannah for their wedding.

Modern & Pink Wedding Design

Sarah & Dan wanted their destination wedding in Savannah to have a warm and welcoming feeling while still representing their fun style. In addition, they wanted guests to feel comfortable as if they were being hosted at a guest house since most guests were coming from out of town.

We played around with warm neutral colors for the base of this modern wedding design. While fun and vibrant colors were incorporated through the florals and furniture accents. Disco balls were an absolute must for the couple, so we worked alongside Gray Harper Florals to incorporate these into a breathtaking floral installation above the dance floor.

With the wedding taking place in the fall, the weather can sometimes be unpredictable in Savannah. The day started beautifully, so our team went ahead and set everything up as planned. Unfortunately, some unexpected rain came during set up where we had to pull all of the linens and decor inside from the cocktail area. Thankfully the rain had passed, and we were able to re-set any outdoor decor just in time for this beautiful destination wedding in Savannah.

We absolutely adored how Sarah and Dan’s vision came to life thanks to their incredible vendor team.
